What To See...

Lindenhof

Lindehof is located on a hill in the old town of Zürich and will offer you the most beautiful views of the city. From here you can see a panoramic view of the city and you can also relax in the park. It is definitely the most beautiful place in the city and a must see.

Zürich Old Town

The beautiful old town of Zürich with its narrow streets is magical all hours of the day and night also. Get lost in the streets, where there are many restaurants, shops of famous brands and also some of the most beautiful pictures you can see in this city.

Fraumünster Church

The Fraumünster church is one of the most important and most recognizable attractions in the city. It is right next to the river at the most central point of the city and is definitely something that you have to visit.

Bahnhofstrasse

This is the busiest street of Zurich. Here you will find some of the most expensive shops, but it is also the road that connects the city center to Zurich’s main train station. If you are in Zurich even for a while, it is impossible not to pass this street.

Münstergasse

Münstergasse is located on the opposite side of the river in the old town of Zürich and is one of its most beautiful streets. Here you will find many restaurants and some of the city’s best cafes that we will mention below.

Münsterbrücke

The Münster Bridge is one of the many bridges connecting one side of the city to the other and is probably the most beautiful. By crossing this bridge you can visit the two biggest churches of the city, Fraumünster and Grossmünster

Grossmünster Church

Grossmünster is one of the four largest churches in Zürich and is located right next to the river and the Münster bridge. A very characteristic church of the city that definitely deserves to be visited.

Nearby Excursions

Zürich is located in a very good geographical location, which favors the nearby excursions to the surrounding areas, of course, due to the amazing transport of the city. Two very good choices for a one day trip from Zürich are two of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland, Lucerne and Bern.

Lucerne is an incredible city, that of course has a very high living standard, like most Swiss cities, and is only a 50 minute train ride from Zürich main station. Tickets start from 10 Swiss francs for one route and it’s probably the best option you have.

Bern is also an amazing city, bigger in size and you will definitely need more time to see the main sights. The train distance from Zürich is about 1:20 minutes and the tickets start from 22 Swiss francs for one route.

What To Eat

Although Swiss cuisine is not something special, it has some specific traditional foods that are high on our favorites list and we believe that you definitely have to try them. We talk about the famous Fondue, Rosti and Raclette. In all the traditional restaurants in the city you will find all these dishes and we highly recommend you to try them.

The restaurant we recommend, is the Raclette Stube on a very beautiful road close to the river. The amazing atmosphere in this restaurant, (we suggest you to book a table before you visit it) and maybe the tastiest fondue we ever had. Prices are high as in the whole city, but surely this restaurant is a must visit.

If you want to have a coffee break in the city center, we think there is no better option than the incredible Cafe Schober at Münstergasse. A jewel for the city that will impress you with its incredible decoration, especially if you visit it near Christmas season.

How to move

Transfer in Zürich is something that you should not worry. If you stay in the city center and around the river, then probably you do not have to use the public transportation. Most of the sights are around the river and the old Zürich town and the distances are short. Zürich Airport is 13 km away from the city center and is very easily accessible from the main railway station. Duration from and to Zürich Airport to the city center is just 15 minutes and the ticket costs 6,8 CHF for one route.

Where to stay

Zürich like the rest of Switzerland has some of the most expensive accommodations in the world. The prices for a relatively inexpensive double starting from 150-200 Swiss francs in the city center and go even higher if you want it. You can make your reservation via Booking.com
